SOUTHBURY- Robert Henry Grab, 86, of Southbury, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of 54 years to Joan (McCabe) Grab.

Mr. Grab was born on June 17, 1925 in New Rochelle, NY, son of the late Frederick and Emma (Voltz) Grab. He attended Isaac E. Young High School in New Rochelle and graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle. He served in the US Army from 1943-1946 and retired from Union Carbide Corporation in 1987 after 33 years of service. Mr. Grab was an avid reader and enjoyed walking, doing crossword puzzles and listening to classical music.

He was a father to Robert and his wife Robin of Tampa , FL and Barbara and her husband John Connors of Lexington, MA, a brother to Madeline Green of San Bruno, CA and an adoring grandfather to Kendra, Brad and Jackson Connors.

He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Henrich and a brother, Frederick Grab.

Memorials: Memorial contributions may be made to the Twin to Twin Syndrome Foundation, 411 Longbeach Parkway, Bay Village, OH 44140, in memory of his grandchildren, Travis and Brett Connors.
