Robert Anthony Corvello passed July 3, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on February 14, 1945, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to the late Mary and Anthony Corvello, Bob lived a life filled with dedication, passion, and a love for education that inspired countless individuals throughout his career.
A proud educator, Robert earned his Bachelor's and Master’s Degree from Providence College and his certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Rhode Island College. Bob began his long teaching career in 1967 but put his civilian teaching on hold to serve in the US Army as a Lieutenant. He completed the Instructor Training Course Diploma in 1969 and served as a Communications Instructor to Officer Candidates. He was a lifelong learner and earned many certificates in other courses during his long career. Bob devoted his professional life to shaping young minds, leaving an indelible mark on the educational community. His commitment to learning and teaching was not just a job but a calling, and he took great pride in nurturing students’ dreams and aspirations.
Bob was especially proud of his 21-year career at the Shepaug Valley Middle School and High School. Bob was a social studies teacher, among numerous other positions there from 1977 through 1998. The highlight was working with his respected colleagues on the Senior Project, which was the prototype of current Capstone projects around the state. Bob retired from the education field in 2008.
In Bob's free time he enjoyed painting writing and photography. You could find him working on carpentry projects or biking, he was very interested in computer programming and how it could be used in the teaching industry. His love for Athletics showed itself in his sports collectibles, or hosting a Sports Talk Show on America Online or his making sure to catch some of the spring training games of the Boston Red Sox.
Above all of the things that Bob accomplished in his life, he was most proud of his family. This past December he learned that his granddaughter would be attending his Alma Mater, Providence College. This brought him tremendous joy.
Bob leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Tricia, his sons Brian, Michael, and his wife Christina, and his granddaughter Sofia. He was very close to Patricia's siblings Donna, and her husband Mike, and Joe, and his wife Patty. He also leaves behind many friends, especially the Greybeards, Gene, Doug, and Ted.
The family will receive friends on Saturday July 11, 2026 at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 34 Green Hill Road, Washington, CT. A funeral mass will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial with full military honors will be immediately following Mass at St Patrick's Cemetery in Roxbury. In lieu of flowers the family asks you consider donations in Bob's memory to St Jude's Research Hospital. To leave an online condolence for the family please visit www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com
