Mr. Robert W. Berg of Southbury, CT passed away on March 10, 2015 after a short illness. Robert was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on January 11, 1928 to the late Walter and Ruth Berg of Liberty, N.Y. He is survived by his beloved wife, Felicia Levy Berg. They were married for 63 years.

Robert graduated early from Liberty High School where he was a star member of the basketball team. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Italy during World War II. After the war, Bob returned to school, graduating from Syracuse University with his B.S. He later was awarded an MBA from New York University. Robert spent his career as an insurance broker, first for Beck and Levy, Tegler in Liberty and Jeffersonville, NY, then Berg Brokerage in Middletown, N.Y. and later retired from Walter Kaye Associates of NYC in 1995.

Bob was an avid golfer for most of his life and also enjoyed stamp and coin collecting. Bob and Felicia loved traveling - having made several trips to Europe, including crossings on both the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. In their retirement they wintered in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Robert lived most of his life in Liberty and later retired to Heritage Village in Southbury. He is survived by his wife Felicia, a daughter Mona Levey and husband Lee of Norwalk, CT., son Lance Berg and his wife Talis (Yaun) of Patterson, N.Y., son Stuart Berg of New Paltz, N.Y., and five grandchildren, Weston Berg, Erlynn Kirsch and husband Andrew, Charles Berg, Bryan Berg and Rena Berg.

Services: Funeral services will be at 10: 00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, Southbury, CT. with burial to follow at 2: 30 p.m. at the Ahavath Israel Cemetery in Liberty, N.Y.
