IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert W.
Belinsky
November 14, 1947 – October 25, 2024
Robert W. Belinsky, age 76, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, October 25th, 2024. Robert was born to the late Paul M. and Madeline W. Belinsky, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford, Connecticut.
After serving on the USS Neosho as an Engine Petty Officer in the Navy during the Vietnam War, Robert settled back in his childhood town and married his loving wife, Joan Belinsky, with whom he shared a full and beautiful life for over 50 years.
Robert was known for his gentle, quiet demeanor, subtle sense of humor, and perceptive mind. He spent the early part of his career as a master machinist for the Farrell's Corporation in Derby, CT, and later became an educator at Emmett O'Brien Technical High School for 20 years until his retirement. He cherished his summers in Jackman, Maine, where he dedicated years to building a family cabin that quickly became a beloved gathering place.
Robert was a dedicated Son, Brother, Spouse, Father, and Papa. Besides his wife, Joan, he is survived by his brother, Donald Belinsky; son James Belinsky, daughter-in-law Meghan and grandchildren Michael and Madelyn; his daughter Cynthia Vasko, son-in-law Tom and grandchildren Emily and James; and his son Edward Belinsky, daughter-in-law Regina and granddaughters Iris and Laurel. Robert will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A private celebration of life will be planned with friends and family. Robert's family would like to thank VITAS Home Hospice and Bumo Rauwe for their support in keeping Robert at home with his family and friends when it mattered most.
