Robert E. Arnold, age 81, passed away June 24 at his home.
Robert was born August 19, 1934 in Upper Paxton PA to Lewis and Hilda Arnold. Robert was a Southbury resident since 1975. Robert spent nine years in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne 7th ordinance detachment and was honorably discharged after spending time in Alaska and Germany. Two places he always talked about. Robert loved fishing for sport and would take the family quite often to local fishing areas. He was also an animal lover, dogs, cats, birds, livestock or any wildlife you could imagine. Robert spent his last years working for the City of Danbury Highway Department. He truly enjoyed plowing snow and running the street sweeper.
Robert was predeceased by his wife Patricia, his parents, his brother Lewis (Karl) and his sister Olive. He is survived by his two sons, Robert of Southbury and Richard, his wife Christina and their two children, Peter and Caitlyn, of New Milford. He also leaves behind a brother Ken of Florida, and sisters Marty, Judy and Hilda of North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
