Rita Osborne Spiro, 90, of Southbury, CT, formerly of Bogota, New Jersey, died Friday, September 8 at her home. She was the widow of Sidney H. Spiro. Mrs. Spiro was born December 30, 1915 in New York City, daughter of the late John L. and Mary Dullmeyer Osborne. Mrs. Spiro lived in Bogota from 1948 to 1969 and was active in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In Southbury, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She is survived by two sons, Stephen Spiro of Metuchen, NJ and Chris Spiro of Newtown, CT; two daughters, Lyn Runfeldt of Lincoln Park, NJ and Jane Eagle of Graton, CA; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Burial in New North Cemetery, Woodbury, CT is private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082. The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North is in charge of arrangements.
