SANDY HOOK, CT- Mr. Richard Alfred, also known as Dick, Hamann, Jr., 77, of 17 Kale Davis Rd., died Monday, May 14, 2007 at his home. He was the husband of Anne (Eicke) Hamann.
Mr. Hamann was born August 3, 1929 in Bridgeport, son of the late Richard A. and Bertha (Knapp) Hamann, Sr. He graduated from Central High School and from Hartford Technical College, having received his electronics degree. He has resided in Sandy Hook for 36 years, previously living in Shelton and Bridgeport. Mr. Hamann had owned and operated the former Capitol Radio and Television Repair, prior to being drafted into the Army. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Hamann had been employed by various manufacturing companies as a quality control manager including: Dual-Lite.
He was a former member of the Olivet Congregational Church in Bridgeport, where he served as deacon and was member of Pootatuck Park Association. His hobbies included gardening, boating, photography and playing pool. He also enjoyed spending time on Lake Zoar at his cottage named OVERLOOK.
Besides his wife of over 50 years, he leaves a son Richard C. Hamann of Danbury, three daughters, Laura Bentivoglio of Southbury, Charmaine Hamann of Gaithersburg, MD and Allicyn B. Hackett of Tiverton, RI, one brother, Carl Hamann of Oxford, five grandchildren, Marissa and Joseph Bentivoglio, Sean and Matthew Hackett and Nicolas Abrigo as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Hamann.

Services: A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
Visitation: Friends may call the funeral home Friday, May 18 from 6-8 p.m.
