Mr. Richard L. Edgecombe, 81, of Sunset Rd., Bethlehem, died Saturday July 7, 2007 at Haven Health Center in Torrington. He was the husband of Helen J. (Berrian) Edgecombe.
Mr. Edgecombe was born October 6, 1925 in Bergen County, New Jersey, son of the late Lewis and Elizabeth (Twiss) Edgecombe. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1943, attending Navigator School. After discharge, he enrolled in the American Institute of Banking, beginning a career of over forty years in that field. Most of those years were spent with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City, from which he retired in 1981 as Assistant Manager of the Times Square branch. He and his wife then moved to Connecticut, where he joined State National Bank in Bethlehem. For several years, he also worked as a sales agent with a local realtor. Richard's hobbies included coin collecting and photography. He and his wife loved to travel, making several trips to Europe, as well as to Nova Scotia for international tattoos of military bands
