Obituary

Richard W. DiVesta, 85, of Southbury and formerly of Easton, CT, died Wednesday September 22, 2010 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Amelia (Gross) DiVesta.

Mr. DiVesta was born April 30, 1925 in Bridgeport, son of the late Patsy and Mary DiVesta. He has resided in Southbury for the past four and a half years, previously living in Easton most of his life. He had worked in Research and Development at Pitney Bowes and retired after 35 years of service. Mr. DiVesta was a member of St. Ann's Club in Norwalk. He was a world traveler, enjoyed dancing and was an avid reader. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II and the Korean War having served in the Asian Theater with the Landing Craft Infantry. He was also a Naval Reservist during the Korean War having served aboard the USS WASP.

Mr. DiVesta leaves two sons, David R. DiVesta and his wife M. Barbara of Colorado Springs, CO and Douglas P. DiVesta and his wife Patricia of Roxbury, CT, two brothers, Francis DiVesta of Florida and James DiViesta of Trumbull, CT, one sister Virginia Keenan of Port St. Lucie, FL, three grandchildren, Aaron, Kelley and Austin DiVesta and many nieces and nephews.

Cemetery: Aspetuck Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Services: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 25th at 10 a.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial with military honors will follow in Aspetuck Cemetery, Easton, CT.
