MIDDLEBURY- Mr. Richard E. Cote3, 73, of Middlebury, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Cote) Cote.
Mr. Cote was born in Hartford, CT, August 28, 1936, son of the late Marcel E. and Doris (LaPierre) Cote. He has resided in Middlebury for 37 years. He was retired from the State of Connecticut, where he was a police officer at Fairfield Hills Hospital for many years. Mr. Cote was a volunteer fireman and an EMT for the town of Middlebury for many years. He was a communicant of St. John of the Cross Church.
He is survived by a son, Dick Cote and his wife Anya of Atlanta, GA and a daughter, Lt. Col. Eileen Loflin and her husband John of Abilene, TX, five grandchildren: Kelsey, Gage, Leah, Megan and Grace and one nephew, Eric Cote.

Services: A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at St. John of the Cross Church, Middlebury at 10: 00 a.m.

Visitation: Friends may call the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Mains St. North on Monday from 6-8 p.m.
