Mr. Richard C. Brown Sr., age 81, of Woodbury, died Monday October 27, 2014 in hospice care. He was the beloved husband of Anne V. Brown.
Mr. Brown was born in Waterbury on April 16, 1933 the son of the late Ernest C. Brown and Doris (Truelove) Brown. He was a business owner in Woodbury and he retired from Region 15.
Richard proudly served our country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army, signal corps.
Mr. Brown will be remembered for his contributions to the community as a Boy Scout Leader, Young Peoples Fellowship leader, American Legion Post 155, Woodbury Homeland Security. Through his business Mr. Brown employed many local young people.
He is survived by his sister Lois Zane (Grey).
Mr. Brown is survived by 4 daughters, Holly Talarico (Joseph) of Woodbury, Robin Newberg (Stephen) of Woodbury and North Granby, Susan Torres (Tito) of Waterbury, Sheri Witthoft (Michael) of Hong Kong and 2 sons Richard C. Brown Jr. (Amber) of Waterbury, Steven Rogers (Gina) of Hernando, FL.
As well as 13 grandchildren Joshua Talarico, Aryn Hong, Amber Talarico, Hanna Newberg, Christine Newberg, Paul Torres, Ileana Bashaw, Ashley Lauber, Eric Brown, Morgan Brown, Andrew Witthoft, Anna Rueger, Olin Witthoft and 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services: Funeral service will be held on Friday October 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, followed by burial at New North Cemetery, in Woodbury with full military honors.

Visitation: Calling hours will be held at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere 2 School Street Woodbury, on Thursday October 30, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m.
