Obituary

Southbury -
Mrs. Rhonda K. Ronan, 32, of West Purchase Rd. died Tuesday September 4, 2007 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She was the loving wife of Stephen Ronan, a New York firefighter with whom she has shared a lifetime of happiness since meeting in December of 2000 at the Ronald McDonald House in New York City. They were married on August 31, 2002.
Mrs. Ronan was born December 4, 1974 in Hallettsville, TX the daughter of Julius and Diane (Janek) Simper of Moulton, TX.
Mrs. Ronan graduated as the valedictorian from Moulton High School in Texas in 1993. She continued her schooling at Texas A&M and received a Bachelor's degree in science. A dedicated student, she furthered her education at Brown University and achieved one of her many goals by earning a PhD in Pathobiology. She thoroughly enjoyed her year of teaching at Rochambeau Middle School and spoke highly of the students that she met. She was recently employed by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as a research scientist studying cures for cancer and other diseases.
Besides her loving husband of 5 years and her parents, she is survived by a brother Ronald Simper of Katy, TX, a sister Yvonne Simper of Moulton, TX, a paternal grandmother Henrietta Simper of Moulton, TX and many nieces and nephews. We will greatly miss her beauty, intelligence, dedication to family and her enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. We thank her for enriching all our lives.
