Revis L. Stephenson, 98, of Nokomis, Fl, formerly of New York City, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in Venice, FL. He was the husband of Mira Stephenson. Revis was chairman of Clarkson Industries from 1969 to 1979. He was on The Board of Governors of the American Stock Exchange from 1975 to 1977 and chairman of the Listed Company Advisory Committee with the American Stock Exchange from 1972 to 1973. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY, in 1978 and the Distinguished Service Award from Clarkson as well. Revis was a member of the Mission Valley Country Club in Florida.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Revis L. Stephenson of Marietta, Ohio; a daughter, Carol Stephenson-Polmon of Southbury; a sister, Elizabeth Brown of New York; 4 grandchildren, 10 Great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was pre-deceased by his wife Josephine, his daughter Lorne Talarico and his sister, Dorothy Pickett.
