Remo Joseph Tiso, 88, of Heritage Village died peacefully on Tuesday January 29, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. Mr. Tiso was born November 24, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, NY. He was the son of the late Vincent and Anna Tiso and was one of six brothers. Remo was married for 69 years to his beloved wife, the late Phyllis Tupper Tiso.
Mr. Tiso, an Army Veteran, proudly served in the European Theater during WWII. In 2001 he retired as the owner of Tiso Tool and Die Company, located in Danbury, Connecticut.
Mr. Tiso is survived by his sons: Gary Tiso and his wife Carol of Pawling, NY, Philip Tiso and his wife Robin of Cheshire, and his daughters : Janine Helbig and her husband David Sr. of New Milford, Phyllis-Ann Martin and her husband Jeffrey of Southbury. He had 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Raymond Tupper Tiso.
A private burial service with full military honors will be held at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Southbury, CT.
