Raymond Elwood "Chip" Lynn, Jr. 84, formerly of Bethlehem, Woodbury and Deltona, FL died October 20, 2006 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Eva (Houck) Lynn. Mr. Lynn was born January 15, 1922 in Waterbury son of the late Raymond Elwood and Ellen Alfreda (Anderson) Lynn. He graduated from Watertown High School and served in the Navy during World War Two, entering in October 1942. He worked for the United States Post Office in Woodbury as a rural carrier from 1947 until his retirement in 1982.He was a member of the First Church of Bethlehem, the Sphinx Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Newington, CT, the High Twelve International, Inc., the Order of the Eastern Star Good Will Chapter No. 112, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and King Solomon's Masonic Lodge # 7 A.F.& A.M. Formerly of Woodbury, he had lived in the Lynn's Corner section of town; named for his family many years ago. He was a dog lover who had owned several cocker spaniels over his lifetime, each of whom was his pride and joy. He was an avid vegetable gardener and was a big fan of polka music. He is survived by a daughter Althea Louise Lynn formerly of Bethlehem, and of Deltona, FL, 2 brothers Mahlon Alfred Lynn of Woodbury, Robert W. Lynn of Watertown, a sister Margaret Lynn Urfer of Bethlehem, a grandson Erik Jeremy Lynn formerly of Bethlehem and Deltona, Fl., several nieces and nephews including Raymond M. Lynn of Bethlehem, Lynn Urfer Lovrin of Naples, ID, and Luanne Urfer Bowden. He was predeceased by a brother Carl Anderson Lynn. A memorial service will be held on November 11 at 1 pm at the First Church of Bethlehem, Main St. South. Private burial services will be held in the Bethlehem cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut by Masonicare, POB 768,Wallingford, CT 06492.
