Mr. Raymond M. Guillaume, 88, of Oxford died Monday May 26, 2008 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Mary Smyth Guillaume.
Mr. Guillaume was born November 3, 1919 in Cohoes, NY son of the late Joseph Alexander and Leah (LaFontain) Guillaume. He was a veteran of the US Merchant Marines and served during World War II. Raymond retired at the age of 66 from Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY where he was employed as a Supervising Engineer. He and Mary spent winters at Myrtle Beach, SC which allowed Ray to enjoy golf year round. He and Mary are active parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford. They traveled Europe together visiting family. Ray's greatest pleasure was time spent with his family. He was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife of 61 years, he is survived by his four children, Arlene Buckwalter of Oxford, Raymond Guillaume of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, William Guillaume of Williamsburg, Virginia and Frances Tibbetts of East Lyme, Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday May 30, 2008 at 10: 00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford. Burial will follow in Southford Cemetery, Oxford.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, from 4: 00 - 7: 00pm on Thursday May 29, 2008.
