Obituary

Southbury- Mr. R Frank Talarico, 78, of Southbury, passed away peacefully
late Friday evening, August 24, 2007, at River Glen Rehabilitation Center,
after a short illness.
He was born April 12, 1929, in Woodbury, CT, son of the late Ralph
and Angelina (Nicoletta) Talarico. He had been a resident of Southbury for over
sixty years. He owned and operated the first laundromat in Southbury next
to Green's General store. He started his own septic excavation business in
1949, which was later known as Southbury Service Contractor. Later, his
son, Frank R. Talarico joined him, the business was incorporated in 1979, and
then became Frank Talarico and Son INC. He was a Fireman First Class Navy
Veteran, serving from 1946-1948. Most of his duty was spent in the
Mediterranean aboard the U.S.S. Providence.
He was a member of the Southbury Fire Department, Lion's Club, and Ambulance Association. He served with the Southbury Fire Dept. rescuing many people by boat in the 1955 flood. Frank was a 32nd degree Mason of the King Solomon Lodge # 7 in Woodbury, and was also a Shriner. He was a member of the Southbury/Woodbury Rod and Gun Club.
Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman. One well known trophy was a 1400 lb.
record bull moose brought back whole from Canada, mounted on top of his Jeep
Wagoner. He spent many winters at his home in Englewood, FL, where he fished,
mostly with his best fishing buddy, (Bub) Edgar M. Koch (deceased),
formerly of Woodbury.
Frank was preceded in death by his second wife, Elizabeth Grisgraber of Southbury and his Grandson Jonathan A. Talarico. Frank is survived by his fiance, Lorraine Levesque of Southbury, and the mother of his children, Marilyn D. (Green) Talarico.
Frank leaves two daughters, Sharon M. Talarico, of Richmond,VA, Wanda M. Spargur, of Englewood, FL, and a son, Frank R. Talarico, of Woodbury, two stepdaughters, Sharon Koch, of Casper, WY, Beverly Gillette, of Southbury, and stepson, Fred Grisgraber Jr. of Fairfield, VT. He had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Mary Rinaldi of Waterbury (deceased), Rose Maringola, of Waterbury, Tom Talarico Sr. of Watertown, John Talarico Sr. of Boynton Beach, FL, Louis Talarico Sr. of Seymour (deceased), and Joseph Talarico Sr. of Woodbury (deceased).

Frank is also survived by nine grandchild, seven step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept.1 at 10 a.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St.

Visitation: Friends may call the funeral home on Friday from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9 until the time of service.
