Mr. Ralph R. DeRienz Jr., 65, of Woodbury died Sunday November 29th at Waterbury Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Deborah (Grassini) DeRienz.
Mr. DeRienz was born November 6, 1944 in Waterbury a son of the late Ralph R. and Marjorie (Urbane) DeRienz Sr. He was a teacher for 28 years at Crosby High School and former owner of Omnitec and Repsco. After his retirement he founded Dieters Edge and Permanent Weight Loss Management. He was a member of the Waterbury Elk's Club and Woodbury Lion's Club. He was also a member of the Waterbury and Northwest Chambers of Commerce and Woodbury Business Association. He enjoyed reading, college basketball, football, Nascar racing, and rock and roll music.
In addition to his loving wife of 30 years, he is survived by a daughter Rebecca DeRienz of Rockville, MD, three sons, Paul DeRienz of Woodbury, Robert DeRienz and Jeffrey DeRienz both of Florida, a brother David DeRienz of Waterbury, a sister Patricia Martino and her husband Joseph of Middlebury, two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant son Christopher John DeRienz.

Services: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday December 4th at 10: 00am at St. Teresa's Church, Woodbury. Burial will follow in Middlebury Cemetery.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St., on Thursday December 3rd from 5: 00 - 9: 00pm.
