Phyllis Westerman passed away peacefully on February 25, 2022, just shy of her 94th birthday. She was born on March 11, 1928 to Henry Jacobson and Gertrude (Paikowsky)  Jacobson in Waterville, ME.  She had fond memories of her youth there and around Maine. She started her professional life in Boston, MA, where she met and married Sidney Westerman, and raised their son, Gary, in the Boston area.

Phyllis became an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics.  She spent much of her life doing volunteer work and family was extremely important to her. When grandchildren arrived, Phyllis and Sid moved to Newtown, CT, to be closer to family and enjoy retirement.  She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed other card and board games as well. She finished out a happy life at Pomperaug Woods in Southbury, CT, near family and new friends.

Phyllis is survived by her sister, Ruth Gamberg (Herbert), her son Gary Westerman (Anne) and their sons Kenny Westerman and Brian Westerman, and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was predeceased by a son Steven, husband Sidney, and two siblings, Estelle Ostrove and Kenneth Jacobson.
