Phyllis Mary (Ferber) Anglemyer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2026, in Danbury Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Phyllis was introduced to the love of her life, Edgar Anglemyer by her childhood friend, Linda Gonzalez. Phyllis and Ed were happily married for 53 years until Ed’s passing in 2024. Phyllis is survived by her son, Craig Anglemyer and his wife Michelle of Blythewood, SC and their daughter's Destiny and Hope, her son Dan Anglemyer and his wife Cynthia of Winnetka, IL and their 4 children Logan, Tucker, Maggie and Douglas, as well as, her nieces Cheryl, Lori and Kristy and nephews Kurt and Jeff.

Born on July 9, 1943 to her loving parents Philip and Margaret Ferber in Greenwich, CT, Phyllis’ life was a testament to love, laughter and dedication to her family. She grew up with her sister, Geraldine Simmeth, and shared a passion for the outdoors, spending summers in the family cabin in Keene, NY. Her favorite time was spent stalking brook trout in the rivers, hiking the mountain trails, and playing cards.

Phyllis and Ed settled down in Purdy's N.Y., where they raised their two sons and built many friendships around the lake in the Candlewood Park neighborhood and shared great times in particular with Cecilia and Eugene Clancy throughout their 60+ year relationship.

After moving to Southbury in 1985, Phyllis and Ed quickly grew fond of the town, developing a close bond with Jenny and Dick Jones, who they rang in New Years with each year with a card game. The men were undefeated because they quit the year’s they were behind, leaving the ladies infuriated. Phyllis also enjoyed years of laughs with the Hiestand’s and Mastriaini’s. Many lunches at local favorites such as Leo’s, Dottie’s, and Maggie McFly’s were had by the Tennis and Water Aerobics ladies (ALWAYS with dessert)!

Phyllis was a caretaker by nature and watched successively after her mother in the later parts of her life, then her husband through Alzheimer’s followed by her Aunt Gloria. Special thanks to Kim, who was an angel helping Phyllis throughout.

Phyllis had a knack for gardening, and raised some of the largest rhododendrons ever seen, as well as beautiful hostas (though she was frustrated every year when the deer ate them). Phyllis enjoyed the simple pleasures like shopping with her daughter in-laws and grand-daughters, fixing up the home, and cooking as she hosted countless get-togethers for family and friends. She baked great desserts (her Chocolate Chip cookies were legendary) and cherished family holidays. Good-natured to a fault, Phyllis loved to chat, reminisce, and tell stories over tea. Her laughter and cheery disposition will be missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Keene, NY Fire Department, P.O. Box 136, Keene, NY 12942.
