Mr. Peter Kay Windesheim, 79, of Woodbury died peacefully with his family by his side on Monday December 24, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Susan (Smith)Windesheim.
Mr. Windesheim was born November 8, 1933 in Madison, Wisconsin a son of the late Karl A. and Muriel (Kelly) Windesheim. Peter served in the US Air Force for 2 years and then was a reserve officer for 14 years achieving the rank of Major. He was a 1954 graduate of Trinity College, where he was also in the ROTC.
He worked for 27 years as an electrical engineer for Underwriters Laboratories in Long Island before moving to Woodbury, Connecticut in 2003. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the American Legion Post 155, both in Woodbury. He was most active in the Torrington area model railroad club.
In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, he is survived by 2 sons, Kurtis A. Windesheim and his wife Carolyn of Southington and Eric C. Windesheim and his partner Colleen Stiles of Colorado Springs, CO, a daughter, Amelia Ann "Amy" Pruden and her husband James of Ashburn, VA, and 5 grandchildren, Timothy James "TJ" Pruden, Allison Elizabeth Pruden, Joanna Marie Windesheim, Noelle Marie Windesheim and Nicolas Michael Windesheim.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of the donor's choice or to VITAS 1579 Straits Turnpike Middlebury, CT 06762.

Funeral: St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Woodbury
Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 29th at 11: 00am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Woodbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St., on Friday December 28th from 4 - 7pm.
