Obituary

Peter (Pete) Hauser (73) originally from Astoria, NY passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was the eldest of three children born September 17, 1945 in New York, NY. He was the son of John Hauser and Mary (Roth) Hauser. Peter graduated from Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, received a Bachelor of Engineering from Manhattan College, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota.

He was a former Captain in the United States Air Force stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and as a Missile Commander at Minot Air Force Base.  He was also a member of the Air Force Judo team. Following the Air Force, Peter had an extensive career in Sales Engineering and held many positions with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Metropolitan Section including Chairman.

Besides his loving wife, Millie, he leaves daughters Karen and Julianne; son in-law Christopher Padowan; three grandchildren: Lucas (13), Chase (11) and Payton (8); brother Craig; sister Jean; seven nephews; two nieces and beloved pug, Ming.

Peter was a loyal man who cherished his family and friends and never judged anyone. He was a devout Catholic. Peter enjoyed traveling, reading, history, experiencing a variety of ethnic cuisines, and he enjoyed sports, especially playing basketball. He was an avid beer connoisseur and was proud of his collection of over 5,000 vintage beer cans.  He was a die hard NY Yankees, NY Knicks and NY Giants Fan. Most importantly, Peter had a kind heart and was always willing to help someone in need.

Calling hours will be Wednesday August 21, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. North, Southbury, CT.  A Funeral Mass will be Thursday August 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 146 Main St. South, Woodbury, CT.  Burial will be at the States Veteran Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Peters memory.
