Paul M.
Maduri
April 26, 1931 – July 3, 2024
Paul Michael Maduri, 93, of Watertown, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 3, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Cos Cob, Connecticut, on April 26, 1931, to the late Demetrio and Josephine Maduri, Paul was known for his vibrant spirit and never met a stranger. Paul's life was filled with love, energy, and a big personality. His happy smile and boisterous laugh will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. On February 16, 1952, he married the love of his life, Gloria. Paul began his career as a local milkman in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where they lived for 30 years. He later established Maduri's TV, a successful TV repair business. During his time in Ridgefield, Paul was an active community member. He joined the Lions Club, coached Little League baseball, and proudly celebrated his Italian American heritage at the local Italian club. An avid golfer, Paul retired with Gloria to Calabash, North Carolina, in 1993, where he enjoyed golfing regularly and worked as a starter and ranger at local golf courses.
Paul, a Korean War veteran, took great pride in his country and imparted those values to his family.
Paul embraced his Italian heritage through cooking and hosting memorable gatherings, especially on Christmas Eve. His greatest joy was his family. He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria, and is survived by his children: Paul Maduri Jr. (late wife Elaine) of Farmington, New York; Darlene Sekel (Tom) of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; and Ken Maduri (Michelle) of Oxford, Connecticut. Known affectionately as "Papa," he leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Allison Kountz (Kevin); Patrick Sekel (Tiffany); Kelly Maduri (Joe); Jenna Maduri; Matt Sekel (Chris); Erin Sekel (Blair); Adam Sekel (Lauren); and great-grandchildren McKenna Morgan, Caitlin Morgan, Nick Shaw, and Logan Sekel. He is also survived by his sisters Frances, Paula, and Phyllis, and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Dominic, Peter, Tony, and Demetrio, and sisters Mary and Josephine. In his later years, Paul received loving care in an assisted living home with a dedicated staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Old Glory Days, 211 Woodbury Rd., Watertown, CT 06795.
