Dr. Paul Lafreniere, 81, of Bethlehem died Wednesday April 15th at Middlebury Convalescent Home. He was the husband of Monica Lafreniere.
Dr. Lafreniere was born March 7, 1928 in Canada to the late Atchez and Blandine (Roberge) Lafreniere. At three months old he was adopted and raised by his uncle Alfred and aunt Marie Anne Lafreniere. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He received his professional degree from Temple University Dental School in 1957. He owned his own business in Waterbury where he practiced dentistry for 40 years. Dr. Lafreniere was a past president of Toastmasters International and past president of the Waterbury Exchange Club. He was on the Board of Directors for the Bethlehem Fair Society and is still an honorary member. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and gardener.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three sons Andrew Lafreniere of Southbury, Denis Lafreniere and his wife Mary of West Hartford, Michael Lafreniere and his wife Renee of Bethlehem, a daughter Diane Polansky and her husband Daniel of Bethlehem, a brother Lucien Lafreniere and his wife Rolande of Canada, two sisters Monique Boisvert and her husband Roland of Canada, Margeurite Isabell and her husband Jean-Marie of Canada, eight grandchildren Lucien Lafreniere and his wife Jennifer, Michelle, Paul, Anna and Emily Lafreniere, Robert, Marc and Thomas Polansky, a great grandchild Haley Lafreniere and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Julliette Lafreniere, two brothers Anicet and Andre Lafreniere and a grandchild Andre Lafreniere.

Funeral: Church of the Nativity
Services: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday April 20th at 11: 00am at the Church of the Nativity, East St., Bethlehem. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Church on Sunday April 19th from 5: 00 - 8: 00pm.
