Obituary

SOUTHBURY- Patricia Ann Wilkes, 62, of Southbury lost her battle with cancer Friday June 19, 2009.

Patricia was born July 27, 1946 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late George and Margaret (Miller) Baranik. She grew up in Bridgeport and Fairfield attending St. Stephen's and St. Emery's elementary schools and graduated from Andrew Warde High School. Patricia has resided in Southbury for 32 years and raised her son there. She worked at Computer Optics, Four Phase, Motorola, GDC, Merlot and Baxal.

Patricia was a gentle spirit and always smiling, very generous and giving. She was an avid gardener, having shared in what she grew and she crocheted afghans for those she loved. She enjoyed cooking with her sister Annie and entering chili contests.

Patricia leaves a son, Jarrod Wilkes of Naugatuck, sisters and brothers, Dee Lee of Massachusetts, Annie Baranik and Moe Baranik both of Southbury, Lorraine Danyow, Mary Beth LaRose and Nanci Lee West all of Vermont, Joanne Towle of TX and Jackie Molchan of Bridgeport. She also leaves her father in-law, Fran Wilkes and his companion Ann Collier, multiple nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

She was predeceased by a brother George Baranik

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Services: A memorial service will be held at 6: 30 p.m. Friday, June 26th at the funeral home.

Visitation: Memorial gathering will be held on Friday, June 26th at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere from 5-7 p.m.
