IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia
Gage
June 30, 1943 – October 25, 2022
Woodbury- Patricia Gage, 79, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife to Chet Gage for 52 years.
Pat was born in Waterbury, the daughter of Norman and Connie (Conrad) Schaefer. She grew up in Naugatuck and Bethlehem. Pat received her nursing degree at Boston University and pursued her career in Boston for several years. When she returned to Connecticut, she went back to school to earned a second degree in Elementary Education. While attending WESTCONN, she met Chet and they soon after started dating. They eventually married in 1970.
Teaching was a major focal point for Pat for many years. She taught in both Region 15 and 14. One of her greatest accomplishments was publishing a Social Studies textbook on Connecticut history for her fourth graders. Upon retirement, she and Chet became volunteers at the Woodbury Food Bank. She also became a Sacramental Deacon at the North Congregational Church and greatly enjoyed visiting the homebound members and bringing them news of the church and communion. She loved gardening and cooking, always eager to test out new recipes for the week. Chet was always excited to try the new dishes and help harvest some of the ingredients from their gardens.
Besides her husband Chet, Pat is survived by her son, Christian and his wife Christine and their two daughters, Barbara Rayanne and Aldyn. Pat will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the North Congregational Church in Woodbury at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Pat's memory to the Community Services Council at CSCW, P.O. Box 585, Woodbury, CT 06798.
