IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia J.
Fowler
November 17, 1924 – December 28, 2015
Patricia J. Fowler, 91, died December 28, 2015 at Pomperaug Woods in Southbury. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore A. Fowler. Mrs. Fowler was born November 17, 1924 in Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Dr. Joseph and Elizabeth (Crecelius) Johnson. She attended Louisville Collegiate School and Bennett College. She met her husband while working in New York City and married on April 23, 1942. With her husband she lived for a time in Chappaqua, NY and for a time in the Netherlands, before settling in Washington, CT in 1967. In Washington, she was an active and enthusiastic member of the Washington Golf Club where she was a one-time Women's Club champion. She served on the Inland Wetlands Commission, volunteered at the Gunn Memorial Library and supported a wide variety of environmental groups. She was an enthusiastic, albeit often cynical, fan of the New York Mets and loved UConn Women's Basketball. A life-long learner she prided herself on her extensive reading of all things non-fiction and on staying apprised of and knowledgeable about current events. Mrs. Fowler is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Rickart and her husband Thomas, of Washington, CT, a son, Bradford Fowler of Provincetown, MA and Albany, NY and his partner, Anthony Lofrumento of Albany, NY, and by a sister, Barbara Farley of San Rafael, CA. She also leaves three loving granddaughters: Virginia Solley Feil and her husband Josh of Norwalk, CT, Victoria Solley Stevenson and her husband Andrew of Hamilton, New Zealand, and Elizabeth Solley and her wife Kelsey LeBuffe of Cambridge, MA, as well as two great grandchildren, Layla Solley Feil and William Miner Stevenson. There will be no services and the family will gather privately at a date to be determined.
