Patricia Ann Duer, formerly of Nanuet, New York passed away peacefully on August 6, 2016 at Saint Raphael Hospice in New Haven after a long battle with dementia. She was 78.

She was born Patricia Ann Sheehan in New York on December 28, 1937 to the late Bridget (Sheehy) and George Sheehan. Raised in Bronx, New York, she graduated from Saint Pius Commercial High School in 1955.

After getting married and moving to Rockland County, Patricia attended Rockland Community College and graduated with honors in 1975 to become a Registered Nurse. She began her nursing career at Nyack Hospital, where she worked until 1979. She moved to Connecticut and had a long career at Norwalk Hospital where she worked first in Maternity, and then in the free clinic, taking care of and teaching low income mothers about prenatal care.

Patricia retired from Norwalk Hospital in 2003. She moved back to Rockland County and spent most of her retirement years reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.

She is survived by her five children: Joan (Ed) Duer-Hefele, Joseph, Mark (Amy), Jacqueline (John) Regan, Carolyn (Scott) Keller, her sister Irene Luntz and 11 grandchildren.
