Olivia Elaine Peterson, 83, of Woodbury, died peacefully Friday, July 8, 2011 at The Emeritus Senior Living facility in Torrington. Olivia was born September 7, 1927 in Derby, daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth Tidmarsh Peterson. She was formerly from New York City and Washington, D.C. where she worked for the CIA and F.B. I. After moving to Woodbury, Olivia worked for the Woodbury Telephone Company. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and enjoyed attending bible study class there. Olivia was a world traveler and a tremendous reader. Her greatest passion was her love for animals, especially her cat Murphy. She was always concerned for the welfare of animals. She is survived by her niece, Elizabeth Tower Dobos and her husband Neil of Northfield; two great nephews, Matthew Dobos of Northfield and Evan Dobos of Litchfield; her cousin Gerald Cawthra of Huntington. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, John Peterson of Texas and Charles Peterson of Missouri and a sister, Marjorie P. Tower of Woodbury.

Services: Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 16 at 2: 00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 294 Main St. South, Woodbury. Burial will be private.
