Dr. Ofelia Benito TeeKing, 85, of Middlebury, CT passed away peacefully on February 10, 2022.  She was the loving wife and best friend of Plaridel TeeKing.

Ofelia was born on July 10, 1936 in Pasig City (Manila), Rizal, Philippines as the only child of Mauro Benito and Andrea Bautista.  She received her BA and MD degrees from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila.  She practiced as a pediatrician in Zamboanga City, Philippines. Upon emigrating to Connecticut in 1969, she completed her residencies at Waterbury, UCONN, and St. Raphael/Yale New Haven Hospitals. She devoted much of her career as a dedicated and caring physician at Southbury Training School and Fairfield Hills Hospital, retiring in 1995.

Ofelia's greatest love was her family.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.  She was an avid gardener, a great listener, and loved to cook and entertain.  She had a great sense of style and aesthetics, from flower arrangements at St. Teresa's Church, to her contributions to the Pomperaug Valley Garden Club (Woodbury), to her own impeccable and conscientious personal style. She had a great appreciation for white roses and hydrangeas.

She is survived by her loving husband, Plaridel, her two sons Dennis (Moira) and Derick, grandchildren, Bridget, Megan, Caitlin and Liam, her two sisters-in-law, Clarita Giaquinto and Lety Alcala, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will take place in the chapel at Sacred Heart Church in Southbury, CT on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Southbury, CT on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11am.  Burial services will be private at the discretion of the family.
