Obituary

Woodbury- Neil John Kennedy, 63, of Woodbury, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on June 25th, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital. Throughout Neil's 8-year battle with cancer, he always had a positive outlook and courageous spirit. Neil was the beloved husband of Lauren (Trombetti) Kennedy for 36 years.

He was born in New Rochelle, NY to the late Neil C. Kennedy and Kathleen Schott. Neil attended Southern Connecticut State University, graduated from Naugatuck Valley Community College and went on to Bridgeport Engineering to obtain a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a talented and accomplished design engineer with long careers at both Pitney Bowes and Thule North America.  Neil was named on many US Patents for design with both companies.

Over the years, Neil volunteered his time as coach with Woodbury Baseball, Soccer and Basketball and especially loved being involved with his son's teams. Neil was an avid NY sports fan and a lifelong fisherman, enjoying many special trips with his sons, family and friends.  He loved playing golf and always looked forward to his annual trip to Florida.

Neil was best known for his wit and funny sense of humor.  He was a warm, wonderful, caring and loving husband and father. He loved spending time with his two sons, Neil and Kyle. He was so very proud of all their accomplishments and the men that they have become. He loved his family very much and his cheerful outlook, kind heart and warm smile will be missed and cherished forever. His legacy of love will remain always in our hearts.
