Bethlehem- Nancy Burton Wright, 97, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 peacefully at home in Bethlehem surrounded by her family. She was the widow to the late Sherwood Wright. They were happily married for 65 years.

Nancy was born on April 13, 1924 to the late William J.  and Grace (Clark) Burton. She grew up in Woodbury and was educated in local schools. She graduated from St. Margaret's in Waterbury. She attended Quinnipiac University where she earned a business degree. She worked at her father's insurance company, W.J. Burton Insurance before she took time off to raise her family in Bethlehem. She and her husband had a successful dairy farm which included Nonnewaug Falls. She worked in the Region 14 school system for 20 years until retirement as a secretary in the different schools.

Nancy was a Tom Brady fan, loved Bingo, and enjoyed trips to the casino. They spent many years camping during summer on the shores of Cape Cod and winters in Kissimmee, Florida. Nancy was also very proud of her lineage, being a descendent of John Howland and John Tilley, who came over on The Mayflower in 1620.

Besides her husband and parents, Nancy was predeceased by her siblings, William Burton Jr. and Ruth Perry. Nancy leaves behind her 3 daughters, Bonnie Johnson of Bethlehem, Mary Jane LaBoudy and husband Jim of Bethlehem, and Patty Wright and her friend Jackie Gugliotti of Waterbury, her 5 granddaughters, her 8 great-granddaughters, 1 great grandson, and 1 faithful dog, Matty.
