IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy A.
Roever
May 13, 1937 – December 26, 2009
Nancy A. Roever, 72, of Southbury, formerly of Larchmont, NY, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Roever was the widow of Douglas W. Roever. Mrs. Roever was born May 13, 1937 in The Bronx, New York, daughter of the late Thomas and Marjorie (Halsgrove) Sitler. She attended Hunter College in New York City and for many years was a controller with ITN in New York City. Mrs. Roever was a 35 year member of the Orienta Beach Club. She was a longtime member of Larchmont Ave Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and member of the church choir. Locally, she was a member of the Heritage Village Women's Club, the Woodbury Women's Club, The Southbury Garden Club, the Republican Club, and an active member of the United Church of Christ in Southbury. She was a gourmet cook and a wonderful hostess who loved to entertain. She will be greatly missed by members of the Gourmet Group of Westchester County, friends who entertained together for over 40 years. In 1998, Mrs. Roever's late husband was a recipient of a heart transplant. Nancy will always be remembered for the loving care given to her husband, the many months of trips to and from NYC, waiting for the transplant and the month's helping him recuperate. She is survived by a son, Drew Roever and his wife Susan, and their children Madeline and Alex of Richmond, VA; a daughter, Susan Roever Seath and her children Samantha and Shelby of Weston; 3 cousins, Charles Sitler, Billy Galm and Margaret LeGere and her dear longtime friend Sue Cullen and cousin Marylyn Fernandez, who were both more like sisters to Nancy.
