Nancy Murray LaBonne, 89, formerly of Manchester and Danbury, died peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at her home at Pomperaug Woods in Southbury. She was the wife of the late George "Ted" LaBonne for 63 years.
After raising her family, Nancy returned to school and graduated cum laude in 1989 from St. Joseph's College in West Hartford with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy. She had many years of volunteer work to be proud of, with various churches and also with Ann's Place in Danbury. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband. Card making was another one of her hobbies and many of the residents at Pomperaug Woods were the lucky recipients of her beautiful cards. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh.
She is survived by her two daughters, Leigh Sillner and Lynne Henriquez and her husband Jose; four grandchildren, Rachele Brown and her husband Chris, Nancy Harrod and her husband Jeff, Alex Henriquez and his wife Joey, and Courtney Sillner, and five great grandchildren, Desmond and Adia Brown, John Louis and Teddy Harrod and Wesley Henriquez.
She was predeceased by a son, Gregory Todd LaBonne.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass in celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, September 30 at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Lakes, 3 Old Town Park Road in New Milford. Arrangements are made by the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home in Southbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Ted, Nancy and Gregory LaBonne to Immaculate High School, 73 Southern Boulevard, Danbury, CT 06810.
