Mildred (Iapaluchi) Assenza, 88, of Woodbury, passed into God's eternal care where she was greeted with open arms by her husband George N. Assenza, on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital with her family by her side. Mrs. Assenza was born October 15, 1921 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Imbimbo) Iapaluchi. A retired LPN, Mrs. Assenza had worked at St. Mary's Hospital where she especially enjoyed working in the Maternity Ward. She loved to read and crochet and was a member of the prayer blanket ministry at St. Teresa's Church, where she was a communicant. Mrs. Assenza was devoted to her family and enjoyed caring for others. She is survived by her three sons, George Assenza and his wife Carol of Eastham, MA, Vincent Assenza and his wife Francine of Ocean Port, NJ and Richard Assenza and his wife Betsy of Goshen; her daughter, Maryanne Kaminski and her husband Bill of Woodbury; 8 great grandchildren, George Jr. and his wife Christen, Alissa and her husband Steve, Michael, Julie, Megan, Kristen, Brittany, and Kate, and Mildred's cat Chloe.

Funeral: St. Teresa's Church
Services: Funeral Saturday, February 6 at 9: 00 a.m. from the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St. to St. Teresa's Church, Main St. South, Woodbury, for a mass at 10: 00 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
Visitation: Calling hours will be held Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
