Mildred Ammirati, 88, of Middlebury, Connecticut, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
She was born on July 3, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Carmine and Anna (Demeo) Mignone. On November 30, 1952, she was united in marriage with Salvatore Ammirati. They were happily married for 50 years. He predeceased her on April 13, 2003.
'Millie' graduated from the Brooklyn High School of Women's Garment Trades in 1947 and worked in New York City as an accomplished seamstress. Over the years, she was a member of many volunteer and social organizations-the Southbury Women's Club, Newcomers Club, Garden Club, and Booster Club-and was a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford.
She is survived by her children, Matthew Ammirati of Waterbury, Connecticut, Mark Ammirati and his wife Judy of Stonington, Connecticut, and Michael Ammirati and his wife Shirley of Viera, Florida; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Michelle Ammirati. In addition to her husband, Mildred was predeceased by her brother, Robert Mignone.
Memorials: Donations can be made in Mildred's memory to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Cemetery: New North Cemetery

Services: A graveside service and burial will be held at New North Cemetery, Woodbury, at 3 p.m. on Thursday December 15, 2016.
