Michael C Matusevice, 57, of Bradley Avenue, Waterbury, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 at his home after a brief illness. Michael was born August 9, 1951, in Waterbury, the son of the late Edmund J. and Bessie (Dukas) Matusevice. He was a 1969 graduate of Kennedy High School. Michael was a landscaper at Western Connecticut State University for more than 20 years before his retirement last year. He served on the USS Independence aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge. Michael was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the Hartford Whalers. He was an avid bass fisherman, military history buff and model maker, and a diehard fan of the Rolling Stones. His son, Michael E. Matusevice, of Waterbury and his daughter Simone Matusevice and stepdaughter Jennifer DeWitt, both of Woodbury, survive him. Michael also leaves behind his sisters, Cathy Greco of Woodbury and Judy Spak of Hamden, his nephew, Ian Spak and several aunts and cousins. He is predeceased by his wife, Michelle (Wagner) Matusevice.
