Michael J. Kiyak, 80, a life-long resident of Bethlehem, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Edith Robsky Kiyak. Mr. Kiyak was born January 21, 1932 in Bethlehem, son of the late Michael and Anna Penik Kiyak. He attended trade school for carpentry and for years built homes, including homes for his brother and sister. He also built specialty pieces of furniture. He liked to fly airplanes, fish and hunt and build model airplanes. He passed his knowledge of mechanics and electrical work on to his sons which he enjoyed very much. Farm life was a great joy in his life, raising animals, gardening and growing and grafting fruit trees. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, John H. Kiyak of Bethlehem and Michael J.Kiyak III and his wife Kathleen, of Rochester, NY; his brother Stephen Kiyak and his sister Helen Gona, both of Bethlehem and 1 grandson, Griffin Michael.
