Obituary

BETHLEHEM - Michael DeMartino, 56, died unexpectedly on Sunday December 17, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Michael was born on June 2, 1961, at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT., the son of Antoinette and Frank DeMartino Jr. He grew up on the family farm located in Seymour, CT., and graduated from Nonnewaug High School in 1979. Shortly after graduating, he moved to California for ten years, where he trained to be a stuntman and entered his lifelong profession in the stone and tile industry. After returning to Connecticut he moved to Bethlehem, where he has lived and managed his own business, Northwest Marble and Tile, for over twenty years. He enjoyed many activities including, gardening, hiking, yoga, snowboarding, playing volleyball, and traveling.

Michael was the husband of Analisa Amoroso DeMartino. Besides his wife of thirteen years, he leaves two sons, Tyler John DeMartino and Brandon Michael Demartino, his mother Antoinette DeMartino, his siblings Frank DeMartino and his partner Jenny, Billy DeMartino and his partner Christine, Toni Boulay and her husband Rich, and Joanne Dilley and her husband Russ, his nieces and nephews, Lauren and Megan Dilley, and Christopher and Nicole (Boulay) Goncalves, his Aunt, Nancy Evans and her daughter Ann Marie Evans. He also leaves his mother and father in-law, Katherine Lorensen and Clark Bennett, brother and sister in-law Anthony Amoroso III and Kristina Rinaldi, his goddaughter Katherine Mary Amoroso and her brother and sister Abby and Chase Rinaldi, as well as many other extended family members. He is predeceased in death by his father Frank DeMartino Jr.

Michael was a loving husband and son, a tireless worker, a wonderful father, and a good friend, he will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street Woodbury, CT, on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 3-7 p.m.
