Mr. Michael J. Cicalese, 93, of Southbury died Saturday October 6, 2007 at Pomperaug Woods Health Care Center. He was the husband of Josephine (Galluccio) Cicalese.
Mr. Cicalese was born in 1914 in New York, NY son of the late Sabato and Antonette (Guerassio) Cicalese. He graduated from City College of New York in 1933 as a Phi Beta Kappa and Magnum Cum Laude. He then obtained his Master's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1937. He worked his entire career as a Chemical Engineer, primarily at Hydrocarbon Research, Inc. and later at Lummus, Inc. He was also a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers for over 50 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Besides his loving wife of 67 years, he is survived by two daughters, Annette Kilbride and her husband Ted of Madison and Linda Rickard and her husband Ian of Windsor, two granddaughters Melissa Rickard of Windsor and Laura Rickard of Ithaca, NY, a brother Julius Cicalese of Drexel Hill, PA, a sister Anna Cinque of Port Jefferson, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 10, 2007 at 11:30am at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. N. There are no calling hours. Burial is at the convenience of the family.
