Mr. Mauro Primo Martinelli, 74, of Woodbury died Saturday October 10, 2009 at Apple Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Watertown. He was the husband of Catherine (Mays) Martinelli.
Mr. Martinelli was born September 4, 1935 in Oakville, Ct son of the late Mauro and Desolena (Gaia) Martinelli. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and attended UCONN. He was in the naval reserves before becoming an advisor of the Woodbury Fire Department Junior Corps. and a veteran member of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department. He was a field trip chaperone at Mitchell Elementary School and Woodbury Middle School, a little league coach and Indian Scouts volunteer. He also volunteered at Waterbury Hospital talking to patients who would be undergoing by-pass surgery. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Teresa's Church. He also bred, raised and showed Dalmatians with his wife for many years. He loved cars, traveling, the ocean and most of all, his son, who he was very proud of. He was a loving husband and father and best friend to his wife.
In addition to his loving wife of 44 years, he is survived by a son Christopher Martinelli, three sisters, Gilda Rubenstein of Florida, Anita Williams of Watertown, and Maryann Johnson of California as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and his two buddies, "Eamonn" and "Thor".

Services: A memorial mass will be held Saturday November 7, 2009 at 11: 00am at St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
