SOUTHBURY - MaryKate Burns, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 31, at her home in Southbury, CT. MaryKate was the oldest daughter of William and MaryLou Burns, also of Southbury.
MaryKate touched everyone who knew her with her bubbly laughter and kind spirit. She was an integral part of the family that cherished her. She was best known for deep love of her many nieces and nephews who adored her in return. She also had a great fondness for golden retrievers, crazy holiday earrings, scary and vintage movies, and she played a mean game of Parcheesi.
MaryKate was a 1981 graduate of Mark T. Sheehan High School in Wallingford, CT. After graduation, MaryKate was employed at Choate Rosemary Hall for many years until she moved to Southbury in 1997.
In addition to her parents, MaryKate is survived by her sisters Kelly Burns, Trish Teodosio (Lisa) and Jennifer Unsworth (Christopher); her brother Bill (Jaclyn); her nieces Hannah, Julia, Meaghan, Emily, Jillian, Annaliese and Lauren; and her nephews Billy, Daniel, Quinn and Dechlan.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Services: A Memorial Mass for MaryKate will be held Friday, February 6, at 10: 00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT 06488.
