Mary Anne Danahy (Dwyer), 90, passed away on December 25, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Frank, and their son, Patrick.

Born on July 21, 1934 in Kingston, NY to William and Mary (Birmingham) Dwyer, she attended the College of St. Rose and became a nurse, working at Kingston Hospital and later at Elizabeth Seton College in Yonkers, NY. In her retirement she worked at Talbots in Southbury, CT where she loved helping customers and spending her discount!

Mary Anne was a kind and generous person who often offered help to others who needed errands done, a meal, or just a friend. Her husband, Frank, used to say that her favorite hobby was "people."  She was a devout Catholic who attended mass daily, participating in lay ministry and becoming a good friend of her parish priests. As a mother, she was an inspiring example of unconditional love, always seeking to gather her family close and support them in all their endeavors.

Mary Anne is survived by five children, Katie Samuelson (Bill), Denise Duffy (Paul), Michael Danahy, Mary Anne Danahy, John Danahy (Jennifer), daughter-in-law Mary Danahy (Andy Sammel) and ten grandchildren, Clare, Kristen and Matthew Samuelson, Erin and John Duffy, Alison, Katie and Grace Danahy, Sean and Ryan Danahy, and Allie Arcara. She also leaves behind her sister, Marjorie Whitaker (husband Howard), sister-in-law Terri Dwyer, brother-in-law Philip Danahy (Betty) and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Friday, January 10th at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. S., Southbury, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday January 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
