Mary Elizabeth Dineen, of Washington Road, Woodbury, CT died Saturday, January 4, 2014 in her family home where she lived most of her life. Mary was born February 6, 1934 in Waterbury during a blizzard, daughter of Aliresa Fanning Dineen and Patrick Francis Dineen. She received her elementary and high school education in Woodbury, graduating from Woodbury High School in 1952. She attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs and received her BA in education from New Haven State Teachers College. She earned her Masters and 6th year degrees from Fairfield University. Mary was an elementary school teacher for 36 years in Long Beach, California, moving to Woodbury and retiring from the Greenwich CT school system in 1992. Her passion was traveling and she traveled throughout the world before and after her retirement. Mary especially enjoyed her trips with her family to the UK, Netherlands, Ireland and Vermont. She retained a commitment to quality education throughout her life. Her faith as a communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Woodbury was a daily inspiration. She is survived by her sister and her husband, Frances and Michael T. Keilty of Morris, CT; her niece Elizabeth Donovan and her husband John of Milton, CT; her nephew and his wife, Michael P. and Tracy Keilty of Morris, CT and her nephew Bryan Keilty and his wife Andrea of New Hartford, CT. She is also survived by seven grand nieces and nephews, Jack, Caroline and Timothy Donovan, Addison and Aidan Keilty and Benjamin and Drew Keilty.

Funeral: St. Teresa's Church
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 7 at 10: 00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Main St. South, Woodbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the spring.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St. on Tuesday morning from 9: 00 until 9: 30 a.m.
