Southbury- Martin "Marty" J. Gunnoud, 65, passed away peacefully in Maplewood at Stony Hill in Bethel on April 7, 2025. He was the devoted father to Kayleigh De La Puente.

Marty was born on May 29, 1959, in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Thomas E. Gunnoud Jr. and Eloise (Meehan) Gunnoud. He grew up with 4 brothers and graduated from Holy Cross High School. He furthered his education at UCONN, graduating with a Bachelors degree.

Marty worked at Unitemps in personnel before opening his own painting business, Gunnoud Painting LLC. When Marty wasn't managing his business, he enjoyed sports like golf, baseball, and softball. He loved spending time with his wide circle of friends and family. He would often be found cheering on his favorite sports teams: the Yankees and UCONN Huskies. Marty loved to share stories of his days playing baseball at Holy Cross and UCONN Avery Point. Marty was a character in every sense of the term. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, smile and kind heart.

Marty leaves behind his daughter, Kayleigh De La Puente (Oscar), his brothers, Thomas III (Hyam Kramer), Robert (Lori), and Christopher (Jill), his sister-in-law, Annette, his granddaughter, Gwendolyn Rose, his niece and nephews, Sean (Grace), Ryan (Raven), Garrett (Savana), and Madison, as well as many cousins. Marty was predeceased by his parents, his brother, James P. Gunnoud, and his uncle, Reverend James B. Gunnoud.

Friends and family may gather at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. N., on Thursday April 24, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 910 Main St. South, on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.
