Obituary

Southbury- Mark David Oesau, 53, a longtime resident of Southbury, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26 in his home.

Mark was born on September 3, 1971 in High Point, North Carolina to the late Diane Spiegelhalter and Terry Oesau. Mark was raised in Milford and attended the local schools. After he graduated from Foran High School in 1989, he enlisted in the Navy, where he developed his love for the world of aviation. He proudly served his country during Desert Storm. Upon his discharge, Mark pursued his A&P license, which led to his first job in the aviation industry. Mark got his feet wet as an aviation mechanic, advancing his way to becoming Maintenance Manager.

In December of 1998, Mark met Lisa Marie Campofiore through a mutual friend at Gipper's Restaurant and Ale House in Milford. Mark and Lisa expanded their little family in March of 2012 with the addition of their son, Gibson Douglas Oesau.

Besides his roles as a beloved husband and father, he was also a cherished brother and friend to many. He was an outstanding role model in his community, touching the lives of many young men as a lacrosse coach and an assistant to the football coaches of the Pomperaug Warriors; both teams for which his son Gibson plays.

Mark led an active, full life. He pursued his love of music as a self-taught guitarist. He played lead guitar with Thompson Street, The Love Handles, and Take Cover. He shared a love for his favorite band KISS with his two brothers and his son, Gibson. He was an avid fan of sports. His favorite teams included the Dallas Cowboys, Colorado Avalanche and, most importantly, the Pomperaug Warriors Football and Lacrosse teams.

Mark is survived by his wife, Lisa, their son, Gibson, his stepmother, Lenore Oesau, his stepfather, Ron Spiegelhalter and wife, Cindi Kuzman, his stepbrother, Nicholay Carvalho and wife, Jenny, his stepbrother, Ron Moses and wife, Michelle and their daughter, Liz, his stepsisters, Jennifer, and Sara Jastrzebski and husband, James. He is also survived by his uncle Mike Oesau, cousin Michael Oesau, cousin Tim Oesau, wife, Janell, and their children Emmett and Maeve Oesau.
