Miss Marjorie E. Parker, 98, of Southmayd Home, Waterbury, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. Miss Parker was born April 22, 1911, daughter of the late Theodore H. and Ella (Schulze) Parker. She was born and raised in Springfield, MA. Miss Parker studied at Smith College, received her degree from the Massachusetts College of Arts in Boston, and taught art at the Garland Junior College in Boston for 11 years. She retired in 1981 from the Mitchell School in Woodbury where she taught art for eighteen years. Miss Parker was a resident at Southmayd Home, a residential home for women, for over eighteen years. She continued to paint and develop a garden area which she and fellow residents enjoyed for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Woodbury. She is survived by many friends and was pre-deceased by her brother, Theodore Parker and his wife, Delores Guidone Parker.

Services: A Funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 30 at 1: 00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 294 Main St. South, Woodbury. Burial will be in New North Cemetery, Woodbury.
