Marjorie Hollis (Shaw) Moeckel of Woodbury passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Henry T. Moeckel to whom she was married for 43 years. Marjorie was born September 20, 1922, in New London CT, the daughter of Frank Woodbury Shaw and Alice (Moran) Bennett. For forty years, Marjorie worked in real estate, eventually running her own business, Country Real Estate. She was very active in the Woodbury Garden Club. She was an avid card player and loved playing bridge with her husband and friends. Marjorie was a member of the Home and School Association for the Training School for over 30 years. She was also a communicant of the North Congregational Church of Woodbury. Marjorie is survived by four children: Steven Jones of Ledyard, CT; Cathleen Schade and her husband Gary of Southbury; Jeffrey Jones of Southbury; and Ted Moeckel and his wife Kathleen, of Upton, MA, as well as six grandchildren, Eric Schade, Elizabeth (Schade) Miller, Shannon Jones, Christine Jones, and Ben and Adam Moeckel.
