Marilyn Ione Coey Higgins passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 with her family by her side in Peabody, MA after a battle with Alzheimer's. Marilyn was born August 26, 1936, the beloved daughter of Ione Florence Shopp and Albert Edward Coey of Woodbury. She graduated from Woodbury High School in 1954 and after traveling abroad, settled on Cape Code, MA. Marilyn earned a degree at Boston University in 1967 and went on to sharing her talents on the piano with the congregation of the United Methodist Church in Eastham. Marilyn focused her life on raising her family for many years before relocating to the south shore of Boston. She spent many of her days traveling and enjoying the city of Boston, its parks and gardens. She leaves behind a brother, Albert Lawrence Coey and his wife Karla of Woodbury; three children, Kenneth Russell Higgins of Eastham, MA, Jennifer Ione Higgins of Ann Arbor, MI and Sonia Higgins Morris of Marblehead, MA. She has four beloved grandchildren; Tyler Kenneth Higgins, Amanda Kristen Morris, Madison Ashley Morris and William Snow Sakalauskas.
