Marie Rubas, 92, of Naugatuck, CT, passed away on July 23, 2026. She was born on February 24, 1934, and lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and unyielding spirit.
Growing up, Marie had a zest for life that radiated through her passions. She was known for her athleticism and spent many joyful summers enjoying outdoor sports, particularly softball, where she formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. Following her passion, Marie embraced a dedicated career as an administrative secretary, providing invaluable support to her colleagues across various businesses.
In addition to her professional life, Marie had a remarkable talent for knitting and baking. Her famous lemon loaf not only garnered admiration but even led to her triumph at the Bethlehem Fair, where she proudly received a trophy. Known for her generosity, Marie often shared her baked goods with friends and family, spreading joy with each delightful creation.
Traveling with her daughters was among her favorite pastimes, and together they explored countless destinations, creating memories that would last a lifetime. One of her greatest treasures was her role as a grandmother. She was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her beloved grandchildren, and her love for them was immeasurable.
Marie is survived by her loving children, Lynn Mulhern, Donna Rubas, Tom Rubas, and David Rubas, along with her cherished grandchildren Briana and Dylan Rubas. She will be deeply missed by many family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and grace. Marie was predeceased by her parents, sister, former husband, and son-in-law.
In honor of Marie's compassionate spirit, memorial contributions can be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, a charity that held a special place in her heart. May her memory be a blessing as we remember the life of a truly extraordinary woman.
